Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Hang in there and take care.

Telling people about our depression never works ... unless it is a medical PROFESSIONAL. They don't know what to do for us, they don't have a 'cure' for it, they care about us but can NOT help us, they get frustrated, and nothing gets accomplished and it creates a rift between us and those who don't 'get it'. There is no PRACTICAL reason to tell her about it .... it won't help.
We have to own our OWN depression and deal with it. Can't be throwing onto others. They do NOT know what to do with it. Hell, they don't know what to do about THEIR depression.
Now, .. here is what TO do ...... get in front of a DOCTOR and tell him/her you need treatment for DEPRESSION (and anyhing else you need). It need not be between anyone but you and the PRO. I HOPE you get a medication therapy program ... AND if lucky, and therapist/counselor for some face to face sessions. This is YOUR business and YOU are taking care of it. Mom ... has nothing to offer you. Depression (etc) is VERY treatable ... get yourself some.
Go to the well that has the water in it. Take your load off of Mom. She has her own issues ... and limitations, ... and ignorance.
