Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
And of course, reading a cracked.com article almost always cheers me up.
God grant me the serenity (at work) to accept the things (at work) I cannot change, the courage to change (at work) the things I can, and the wisdom (at work) to know the difference.
Got me through the "screaming times" more than once.
Sometimes, I struggle just to get through the day, let alone the demand of a regular job. I haven't had one in a long, long time. But, I've been in your boat, many, many times. I would try to focus on the positive around me. I used to carry a magazine that had pretty pictues in it of nature that I would take a break and look at, just for a few minutes, to renew my positive energy and distract myself from the stress I was under, whether on the job or at home-life. It helped. But, you can also divert your thoughts away to a "happy place" by THINKING on something that you have done in the past or want to do in the future. Or an experience. Something joyful or soothing or calming. This seems to be effective in most cases. Takes some very, very willful focusing though. And it can be hard. But, just for a few minutes, well, I think it's doable. We have to give ourselves some relief from all these pressures some times. And, I think that is the right word for it. PRESSURE, from all our demands, just to keep going.
Hang in there. Just, keep hanging in there.
