Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Please take the advice that I gave you. Pray those words. Over and over until it is as natural to you as breathing. Just keep saying, "Mother Mary, help me I need you." Seriously, dear. Just keep on saying that. It's okay if you aren't Christian. You are loved anyway. I will be away from the computer after 4:00, but I'll be praying for you. You can do this. You can win this fight. Please, turn to God. Believe it or not, He is waiting for you. Get yourself to a Catholic Church as soon as you can. Also, if you don't feel like you can wait until Saturday when you see your therapist, talk to a Catholic priest. They'll help you for free. And remember, keep on praying! It helps.
There was a boy I had known his entire life who killed himself in September. His family was devastated and still struggling with his death. My mother died from cancer six years ago, and I still struggle with it. We saw it coming, but it was still hard. It’s 100 times worse when someone does it to themselves. I had talked to my young friend not two days before he ended his life. I had hoped that he felt he had a safe place to go if he needed it, but he made a different choice. He was 19. He had his whole life ahead of him. Like you, he felt that he could not cope with the battles he was fighting in his life. But you still have a chance to change that. I wish you the best of luck.
