Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

He saves those who are crushed in spirit. Please don’t bury your emotions get help my dear.
You've just been through a traumatic event, so it's completely normal to feel sad, depressed, angry, and to question if you'll ever feel happy again.
You can absolutely feel better and even feel joy despite everything you've been through. It just may take a little time. Please know that the rape wasn't your fault and it's ok to talk about it. It's ok to reach out for support from friends, parents, guidance counselors or whoever you feel safe with. You matter and you deserve some support as you sort through all of your feelings.
Please know that the only responsibility you have right now is to yourself. It is a huge burden to feel like it is your job to keep the world safe and this is not your job to pick up. Take care of you as best you can and know that you have no control over the actions of other people including your rapist.
Hang in there and know that things do get better.
You've shown so much resilience. Deep breaths, one step at a time. You've got this.
As far as things going so good then something bad happens--- that is something I think we all can relate to (no matter what our age) Like so many others, I have been through a lot in my lifetime. I used to wonder why the bad stuff always happened to me (seldom saw the good). Then one day I too wound up in counseling (several times after as well) I would come to understand things. Also was reminded that when we are forced to struggle through the bad things, it makes us appreciate the good so much more. There will be positive things (One of which is just starting... you will begin to feel strong again and Know that you are a good person who isn't gonna let this put you down. ) And good times will come again. (and once more, I am so sorry you had to deal with this) I send love and hugs. :)
Please report this to the police. If this "best friend" would do this to you, he will do it to others.
Do you have a wiser older person you can speak frankly with? Your Mom, Grandma, Aunt, counselor, pastor's wife? Someone you trust could help you get through the grief of this betrayal and physical assault.
I will pray for you and ask Jesus to lead you to healing. I'm so sorry that this has happened to you. I'm grieving with you. :-(
