Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I wish I hadn't gotten too drunk to push a guy off of me.
I wish I hadn't ever ever ever gotten married.
I wish my ex and I would have taken her Mom home with us that night we stopped over to find her all bloodied up by my wife's drunk Dad. Instead, we went home, and he put a loaded gun in her mouth.
I wish I would have told my Gram she is where all my strenght comes from.
Many days, I wish I could have a complete do over of life. But of course, that isn't possible...I have many other things I could type as do over's but this is a start.
Sorry about your's Beastie...I am sure you were a very good friend because you have a very caring heart....
everyone
I wish I hadn't Wasted Six years of my life with the psycho bitch from hell, and only dated her for like 6 Weeks instead. You canNOT Fix people!!!! (no matter HOW GOOD the sex is - LOL!)
It's not your fault, Y., It's not your fault. But I wish you could have a do over too. So you wouldn't feel like you do about it. You it could take away your guilt.
I would like two do-overs. I really do need two. Please may I have two do-overs.
My first do-over (in order of time line) would be to NEVER have accidentally told my boss's husband that she wasn't working that night. My boss, my friend my mentor. If I had lied like she wanted me to, she would still be alive today.
My second do-over, and I've thought about this....where it all went wrong...would be to go back in time to when my daughter graduated the 8th grade. Everything culminated to one moment in time, but it was all leading up to it. We were constantly fighting, and I just didn't have the patience for her constant tests of me and my attention. Now I would. Now I understand that she was desperate for my attention and love and I was not meeting her needs.
Anyway, my do-over would be when she said "I want to go live with my father" in the backseat of the car that day, on rte 4. She was screaming and crying and through her topsider out the window, and I YELLED. I yelled. I Yelled "FINE, GO LIVE WITH YOUR FATHER"
FAIL. FAIL FAIL. I failed her test. I was supposed to have fought for her.
That's the moment of the 2nd biggest screw up of my life. They are both equally bad, and they both had the most dire of consequences.
so, Please, let me have two do overs.
I have had mine bottled up in me for so long and I cant let go of it. Mary would have done anything for me.. anything... when I was in the hospital in critical condition from a staff infection, she told her kids she could not live if I died. She truly meant it. Everyone thought she was my sister. If I would have stayed, she may still be here or I may have been the one who found her, lifeless.. Either way. I miss her with my whole heart..
These stories are sad and I should have put trigger I guess. Sometimes it helps to get the painful stuff out...
Sometimes I wonder, do you know, I wonder if in the case of death, if we were to change the circumstances and events, the events and circumstances would just rework themselves around to a place where the same outcome occurs.
All I know I can do is to live my life in a way where I never hurt anyone again.
Hugs,
Bridget
I wish had thought through the consequences of all my decisions before I made them. I wish I had been more rational. I wish I had seen the big picture and realized what I was destroying.
I wish I would live the way I want my kids to live.
I wish I would have gotten professional help about 30 years earlier.
I wish you all could have the do-overs that you need.
I wish I had never gotten married.
I wish, actually, that I had never even MET my ex.
I wish I would have stood up to my Father at an early age, and told him what an asshole he was.
I wish I had had parents, who were more capable.
I wish my dyslexia had been diagnosed when I was in grade school or even earlier.
I wish I had been more together while my Mother was dying.
I wish I wasn't a mental case.
