Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

What some people here do is to print up some of their posts and just show them to their therapist. It can be a great way to get emotions to stabilize long enough for us to start talking. Then, sometimes, once we start talking it just EXPLODES out. Do not worry about it being logical, making sense, or being in any sort of order. Just getting things out is good, and anything that gets that started is perfectly fine!

the suggestion of a support group or even a therapist that you can feel comfortable with is a really good one. it's amazing what talking can do.
As for pills.. I can understand not wanting to take something. but your assessment of pills making you into a zombie is.. not true. simply not true. there are a lot of stories on DS about pills helping tremendously. Meds can take the edge off so you can start looking for something meaningful. Of course it's your decision, and I hope the lavender helps, but I know that I would not be on this earth if it wasn't for medication. I was tired too.. i still get tired of life. but the meds can be a lifesaver.
is there a reason you are against meds? What other remedies have you looked at? are you able to exercise?
Keep us posted! I hope you feel better soon.
