Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Everyday we all come into the Depression group. Some belong to Anxiety groups and bipolar group. Different pain groups etc.
But what is anyone doing on a day to day basis to actually help themselves?
Are you taking meds? Seeing a Doctor, Therapist or what have you? Are you reading about new and different diets to help with your suffering? What about exercises?
We all know whether its physical pain or emotional pain. All your energy is zapped from you completely. And dieting..... who wants to go on a diet, right? Isn't that a type of suffering too? Who wants to add to more suffering?
And yet, something has got to be done. You can't go on day after day, suffering and wilting away like a flower.
I harp on changing your diet often. If your happy with your medications good. But if not, try a completely new diet. And I'm not saying STOP, your meds. You and your Doctor should talk.
There are foods, herbs, vitamins... made for making you feel good or at least, better. There are herbs and vitamins that help fight pain, depression, anxiety.
Many Herbs can be grown at home in your kitchen. Vitamins should be bought at a health food store. The employees can explain which vitamin or mix is best to help reduce your depression, anxiety, nervousness or particular pains.
For thousands of years, people relied on certain individuals that knew about plants and herbs that helped physical and mental problems.
Our Western Culture stopped looking to nature, for help. But became Science fixated. New, modern... and very quick.
World wide studies are now being done. The Top Colleges and science labs throughout the world are saying.... YES, our ancestors were right. Many herbs and plants don't only work in making us feel better. Many are better than the Drugs man has made. And without any type of side effects.
Of course eating right, is a major obstacle for a pained or depressive mind. Plus..... We all hate change. But this is a change for the good.
Try to take the time to go on the internet. Find a diet that detoxes your body.
Look for the Vitamins YOU need or Herbs to grow that your body needs. There's other foods to avoid and actually make you feel worse. Or block the Serotonin and Dopamine from entering your bloodstream. Those are the feel good chemicals in our bodies.
What do you have to lose.... but pain, depression and anxiety. It takes time and effort. You won't see an overnight miracle. You WILL feel the long time effects of changing what and how you eat. This isn't like taking a stupid little 1 a day vitamin. And saying, yes.... I'm trying.
If you want to make a difference.... Then You have to make the choice to make a difference.

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

More often its the Parents, family and friends that don't understand a certain psychosis or mental breakdown.
Not all, but many people that have clinical depression and severe anxiety are actually missing hormones, that allows them to feel good about themselves. They may be releasing dopamine and serotonin into their systems. But very little compared to the so called "Normal" person.
People that take Marshal Arts for example. Are taught early on, NOT to get mad. Stay focused and think about each movement you make. Why? Because if you allow yourself to become angry, certain chemicals are released. Basically, you become angrier. You don't focus or think clearly. Your eye site is very much like tunnel vision. You can't see the Big picture.
Depression blocks the good chemicals from rushing into your bloodstream.
So.... Many people are prescribed medication. Still.... They don't always go into your system the way we want them to. And often, there's side effects.
I just want people to really try for a more natural supplement.
I've known several people that were so depressive all their lives. And even suicidal at times.
They read up on Herbs, foods, vitamins etc. They drastically changed their diets. And they say it took months. But they have Never felt better or calmer.
I've met two people on this site that have done the same. I'm hoping they will comment here also.
People that are Diabetic, completely change their diets. It isn't easy to do. But they want a life that's full and happy. So... if they can't have donuts each morning. Or chocolate cake after supper. Big deal..... They do the best they can. They exercise and eat right so they may not have to take insulin or other medications.
They do it for themselves and for the ones they care about.
