Can't take my kids to their father's side of the family's Thanksgiving dinner because even though he will be out of town, he won't allow me to attend. I refuse to leave them there on a holiday without a parent.
Can't attend my son's birthday party because my ex's family will be there. Though I have been invited personally by his family.
Oh well such is the life of a divorced parent....
