Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
As to the last part of your post, I want to ask you something......
Did you ever hear the saying, "a friend is someone who knows your faults but loves you anyway."
Sometimes, I wish I had more friends like that definition!
Great, now I am worrying what you will think of me, lol.
We all want to feel accepted, that's the great thing about this place, come as you are and you'll fit right in.
You are not alone.
You know your own value. You live by your own terms and don't need the approval of others. You are unique, and the people around you should accept you for who you are. Do whatever that you want to do (unless you are a minor and needing to ask permission). Be confident in yourself!
I know that what we are doing is mind reading and that is not possible but i cant seem to stop it.
i wish that i didnt care but dont know how to change it. i am also such a people pleaser.
sorry that this is not really helpful to you but maybe it might bring you some comfort that you are not alone and that others are the same. I suppose we could meet each other one day and wonder what we were each thinking
I'm not feeling so upset/ depressed about things.
And I do believe that it can be really "deep seated". If you
got the message as a young child/ person, that you were
not worthwhile, it's a belief that probably sits deep inside your
soul. I think that it can be changed but in the meantime, hope it helps to know that others struggle with this thing all of the time. It always amazes me when people seem to feel so confident in themselves (or are they?).
