Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I'm getting to the point of not going to my doctor anymore and staying off medication because there isn't anything that is helping me.
After all these years I haven't even been on a single medication and thought that it was better than not being on anything.
The last time I was in her office I broke down crying telling her we aren't going to find anything.
She finally decided to try something different, add an adhd medication with my antidepressant because there was a study that tried this. However, they ended the study because they realized it didn't help depression, so I'm really clueless as to why she wanted to try it anyway.
She said that there are many options and I assumed she just meant the same type of antidepressants that we've been trying. I should have asked what the "many options" were.
Are there other options?
Also, is there an antidepressant that anyone with TRD has found to be effective?
I know everyone is different but I'd just like to see what has been helpful for other people.

Everyday I feel more and more sick. Being in pain every day, I've learned to disguise it. So well that others don't believe my pain when I speak of it. Needing help but only receiving negative responses, I find my way but pay for it later. I absolutely need the rest but there's pressing things to be done.

Ugh my depression is really being triggered by the grief of losing my mom. Ugh it sucks. I wish this pain would leave me already.

I think that there are so many types of medications that work for different people...remeron can help some people where other antidepressants have failed.
still if nothing else works you could try yoga, meditation or whatever.
Anyway I guess there are a lot of options by combinations of medicine. It's just hard to be patient for it.
I have an apt for the end of this month but I've been trying to get in sooner; so in the meantime I've just been doing research so I can tell her what I'd like to try.
Thanks NeoHope. I'm glad your situation is improving. I'm so glad meditation and yoga help you, I hope it continues to!
