My dad passed away last night. I haven't gotten the details yet because I'm not ready. I've mentioned he had lung cancer, but from what my mom said, it sounds like it was something else, or a complication. So my daughter and I came up today to be together and help my mom with anything I can.

I'm completely destroyed. I've always been really close to my parents. He was the best dad a girl could hope for. I know I'll get by, but I really don't know how I'll live without him. I feel like I've been stabbed in the heart.

I experienced the stages of grief when my brother died, so I'm familiar with them. So far I've had depression, anger, and denial. And so much pain.

My mom and daughter are all the family I have left. I'm going to be a wreck for a really long time.
