Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I can certainly relate to this movie since i am also forgetful most of the time. 110% of the time im like Dory. It is hard for me to trust myself because i often forget things. My short term memory is really affected. maybe because of anxiety and depression. I couldnt muster my guts to work because in nursing you need to be alert. i just felt disorganized. i wish my forgetfulness would vanish but i dont think so. this has long been my problem. i condemn myself, label myself and look down on myself as if i am dumb. It really felt bad. I dont have a career. it sucks.Irealize i should apporach this the other way. I should be kind to myself and not condemn myself. When i forgot something i should smile at the mind. And say: "it is ok, one at a time and move on." I will try this apporach and see if there's an improvement.
This inspired me because dory was brave. She does things on an instant. She didtn plan things. She doesnt give a damn and she doesnt have issues. She doesnt creat a problem that it isnt there. There was a part there when marlin says, forgetting is waht you do best. She was hurt but she just brushed it off. Despite her disability, she was able to find her parents all by herself. I'd like to be dory. She accepted herself and her disability. it could be frustrating at times but it is also somethign that can be accepted.

Not that that is going to happen. At the moment I have my daughter...
