Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I am suffering from the inability to cope with ordinary every day things. From my housework to watching tv or reading a book. I get palpatations, nervousness, at the moment my heart is palpatating and all I am doing is typing this. I am so scared its silly, I just want to stay in bed and just get up for meals and coffee. Not that that is going to happen. At the moment I have my daughter who is disabled. And Gareth my husband having falls, cant walk on sand, we are going away on holiday in a caravan and I am dreading it. Between Emma haviing seizures and my husband having bowel issues, which might land on the floor. In a place we dont own. He wont have walking sticks or hiking sticks to help him, he point blank refuses, though we know people in a similiar position and find them very useful. He would rather fall on the floor, maybe he likes the attention he gets when he falls outside on his own. I am trying to loose a little weight but I really need someone to take control of what i eat. This is the first time I have had this problem, I have always managed to loose weight by myself this time I cant. And i cant afford to join weight watchers or anything similiar. Both my parents are long dead, and I have no siblings.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I say this as an outsider looking in obviously but maybe stop letting your husband and daughter run the show. How is it two people who can’t do much for themselves get to dictate everything? Do you tell them what YOU need?
Also When your husband falls, can he get up himself? If he can and I know this is hard, try to not fret. Let him do his thing. If he can’t get up by himself then I think there needs to be a serious discussion with his doctor on getting you some care for him. Also adults don’t poop on the floor unless there is a physical or mental health issue. If he can’t wipe himself, that is a problem! He needs help, more than you just trying to take care of everyone’s needs.
You need a holiday. Just you. Dare I say based on what you write your family sounds utterly selfish and unaware that you are sacrificing your wellbeing for them.
Start looking out for yourself a bit. Express your needs to your husband and daughter. You can still be a caregiver if you want. People do it all the time. But it is almost impossible without some resources and assistance. I suspect your family would scoff at that but since you seem to be the only one capable of doing most things you can kind of call the shots as well. You have a say. You have a voice. No time like now to start using it.
Anxiety stinks. There are lots of ways to cope. But sometimes there are bigger issues at play. Anxiety is just the symptom. If your life has been mostly filled with stress, that takes a toll on the body and the mind. That is a big part of it.
That said: Sometimes the best way is to get away. Done it myself. Sanctuary where only worry is me, myself, and I.
Two sick people can not heal each other.
Three sick people trying to heal is beyond impossible.
Your husband behavior is selfish by not using what is needed to prevent falls...so next time he falls don't help him up...Natural Consequences...if he poops his pants get him adult diapers. HE is Making the choice to act like a child and not help or be responsible for himself.
I say Send Hubby and Daughter Away and Let them have/get and idea of what you do Every Day Caring For Them.
Listen To Your Body!
It is Screaming at you "Take Care Of Me!!!"
Wondering if your weight is 'stress eating', lack of exercise...can you go out and walk on your own for 20 minutes a day...being in nature is a great stress relief for body and mind..
You stay home! Give yourself the gift on the money saved by you staying home to get a healthy diet plan/help for yourself <3. Go to emergency care for referral for help for You and for them!!
Then it’s anxiety about the anxiety. It’s miserable. I have it too. I hope you can catch a break somehow
Stress produces cortisol... cortisol stores fat. Your weight will stay stubborn as long as your stress levels stay high.
Is there a way to find respite care for your hubby and disabled daughter for a few days so you can do some self care?
What health insurance do you have?
When my mom was on hospice (here at my house), Medicare provided 5 days of respite care for me every month and we would check her into a nursing home for those 5 days to give me a break.
If he needs a cane and is regularly falling due to refusing to use it I would simply say 'I'm not going away'
Period ...And I'd mean it
He can make his choices and do what he wants
So can you!
I would be really careful about any caffeine intake when you're so anxious sweetie
Big hug...xo
