Hi everyone,
My mom passed away 7/5/2021. Her and I were best friends. I have days where I feel ok and then days when I have crying fits for like 2 hours. I am on vacation this week with my husband and daughter in the most beautiful location in the Outer Banks of NC. The first two days we were here, it was tough. I cried got upset, and literally couldn't stop crying for the longest time. My mom loved the ocean and pretty much everything I see reminds me if her. I cried when I saw the shells on the sand. The other part of this is I used to go to the Outer Banks with my mom and dad as a kid and even certain towns or stores bring up memories to me. I feel bad because this is a vacation and I don't want to feel bad but all this happened pretty recent. How do I start to process this and deal with the depression? People ask me if I am ok and I say I am ok but really I am not. Why am I afraid to be honest?

Now that I am not talking to my whatever best friend, I realized that her life is full of drama. I had grown tired of hearing her stories about her boyfriend many months ago. She basically had been monopolizing conversations for that long too. She pretty much stopped asking me questions about me. I passed her in front of her classroom the other day and didn't even look at her. I am...

Jay's podcasts are really good. I watch them on YouTube for free. Today, I watched his video about motivation. In fact, I've been watching a few videos on this subject. Jay gave us an assignment to complete the following sentence: I am stuck because? I don't describe myself as stuck, but to finish the sentence, I would say that I am stuck because I am tired. When I have energy, I do...
I am also on vacation. Your grief does not leave you when
you go on vacation. It is still "fresh" grief. I am so sorry for your loss. The tears
may help you to heal. Be kind to yourself.
After my Mom passed away, whenever I go to malls it reminds me of her. She loves shoes and clothes and every time I go to malls, I remember her. She was happy when I gave her gifts and I miss her especially on special occasions.
Losing someone we love is difficult. I am very close to my Mom and I love her so much. I grieved for a year. I cried almost everyday. Grieving has no timetable so give yourself time to grieve. Cry when you need to.
Having a trusted friend that you can talk to would be helpful. You can also come back anytime and share with us, we are here for you and willing to listen. Prayers for you, for comfort as you go through this hard time.
I definitely have moments that I just can't control. The thing that hits me hard is when my daughter asks me, "Can grandma come back if we make a wish on a star?" I have to tell her the truth. That's hard. The other day I heard her talking to a jewlery box with a ballerina that my mom gave her. It plays music too. She was saying, "I am confused grandma, why did you leave?" She's five by the way. So much more emotionally astute than I ever was. I told her it's ok to be confused and it's ok to say you miss grandma and your sad. Maybe I should take my own advice..
As far as I go, I believe she hears me. I talk to her all the time. I also wear a necklace of a dragonfly pendant that has some of her ashes in it. I have worn it since I got it. I don't know why but it helps me feel close to her. Just like when my grandma passed away, I wore her jewlery for a long time. I just miss them both so much. They were both my everything.
