Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
A lot of kids at my school are angry, very angry, about our Homecoming being shut down and how our new Principal is handling the dark cloud above our school.
At my school we recently had a horrible tragedy, actually several, a girl in my grade died in a motorcycle accident and shortly after a friend of her's committed suicide. The whole school district was shaken and a majority of the people I hang out with knew the girl who passed away, I felt a sense of blankness or maybe I was numb to the situation, I didn't really know the girl but it hit a lot of my friends really hard. I couldn't think of her face but in my heart I knew she was in the other world. Our new Principal didn't do anything, that I can recall, that would be basic protocol to follow when a student dies. For the longest time she didn't announce funeral times for the girl and she didn't even touch on the subject of grief counseling for her friends or siblings. About a week or so after her funeral we got the news that a friend of the girl had committed suicide and THEN the Principal managed to get on the morning announcements and make it known to the school that Grief counseling was available.
Safe to say, the whole situation was handled very poorly, the new administration at my school doesn't really talk about the deaths of these kids. I feel sick thinking about how their families must feel right now. I want to mourn, but I never knew the girl very well and yet I know how much she meant to a lot of people! If I could at least be a comfort to my friends maybe I will find peace...

After work, I am taking a defensive driver course today. It is online and only cost $10 and it may save me as much as $300 on my car insurance. I got the information from my car insurance company. Little known fact about me is that I drive with two feet.

One day in August many years ago, the strings to our hearts were woven together in a magical and sacred way. They remained tied together though they were taken on a journey fraught with challengingdemons serpents and deep wounds. But still, they stayed tied together. They were torn apart and like a wound that leaves a scarthey cannot heal. They are broken. Ripped, callously slashed. The heart...
