How many dysfunctions can you identify that you do.?
I suffer from all 10 honestly. I think they go hand in hand.
I don't know much about this, maybe I shouldn't be the 1 making a post about it. I think my friend that sent me the link would be better suited for it but I will try my best. I wouldn't object to this person making a more in depth post about it because I know they know more about it than I do.
I am definitely going to invest in the book I'm sorry I can't remember the name. I will leave a comment giving the name of the book and author.
I only post it because what I read so far explains everything that I do and I didn't realize that some of my actions are a direct cause for my depression.

Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...

The name of the Author and book.
Another reason I posted is because I am nosey. Does everyone suffer from all ten, do they go hand in hand or am I just really screwed up.
Looking at the list, I can definitely identify with if not all, most of them to some degree or another. Honestly , how STRONGLY I identify ( or feel ) some of them depend on the circumstance, my general mood on any given day , what may be going on with my family and friends... etc.
I can't say that thinking some of those things cause my depression or my depression causes those way of cognitive thinking.. the chicken or the egg theory? I too believe that self help books can be very beneficial to help change our thought processes if we are willing to do the work to make the changes ( and that's the hard part).

Me.
P.S. thanks for sharing drew!
society, and especially the media, train us from an early age to only see the negative in things... everything on tv has to be bad or it wont get viewers (specially the news)... and when everything around us is only seeing the bad, we fall into the same habit
if anyone is doing this, theres a fix... but its not easy...
when you catch yourself seeing the bad in something, stop, and force yourself to see 2 positive things about it... sometimes its hard, but it can always be done
someone smashed your car? sure, its easy to see lots of bad things about it... but if nobody got hurt, thats a positive... if you get body work done through insurance, thats a good thing... and maybe getting into that lil fender bender kept you from getting into a bigger accident down the road
it might be the hardest thing youve ever had to do... but it IS possible and it DOES help
going outside and seeing the wonders of nature is really good for helping with this
