Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
What I do find tho, is that the anxiety doesn't generally get borne out by the facts. You'll find a large number of people are kinder and more generous.
I'm proud of you for doing it. And in a week when the anxiety attack has passed, so will you be. :)
At the end, though, people thanked me for sharing. A couple said they are glad I was able to find God. Other comments, all encouraging, were brought to me. Everyone in that room, mostly strangers, they treated me with respect for having the courage to go up there. Nobody has treated me different from that speech.
I'm not sure what people you will be speaking in front of, but when someone tells a very difficult story of their struggles most of humanity finds it to be something they respect and appreciate. It's a very positive response. If I were able to blabber like an idiot in front of people I have no doubt you will be great! It's scary, but a whole mountain of weight is lifted from your shoulders in the end. :) you're going to do wonderful and I'll be cheering you on in your speech!
