Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Some depressions are simply a chemical imbalance in the brain and medications are the answer. Talk to your therapist, REALLY talk to your therapist and explain what you are going through, even the fear of going back to the hospital and see what y'all can work out. They are there to help you, not hurt you. You may have to contract not to harm yourself (which would be a good thing) and that might keep you out of the hospital. Promise to call your therapist/doc if you keep feeling suicidal. Meanwhile keep talking to us and there are numbers at the bottom of each page here on DS for crisis hotlines. There are always people to talk to here and if you don't like giving details in a public forum, IM one of us. We would be glad to talk to you.
You have a great future ahead of you, don't decide to end it on a whim. One of these days, I might need to see a social worker and it may happen to be you! So, think of all those people you would be helping.
Warm safe hugs and lots of kitty purrs--Laura
