Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
i am so tired of dealing with depression. I hate living by myself. I am tired of trying to build a decent life alone. I have been thinking about stopping dialysis. I don't know why I should continue with this artificial means of sustaining life when I spend most of my time alone and sad. I am considering stopping treatment. It wouldn't be suicide. It would just be nature taking it's course. I could manage to deal with the kidney disease on it's own but with depression it's just too much. How do I explain to my kids that I have had enough. Why do I always have to consider them? They have their own lives. Why do I have to keep dragging things out just because of how it may affect others? What about my having to continue this misery?

I know this is stupid, but after not being able to find a job after graduation for almost two years, I ended up just taking an online teaching job because I couldn't find anything in my field. I was trying to get out of teaching and I feel so devastated. I felt this crushing feeling when I signed the paperwork and when I was in the meetings. Tomorrow is National Massachusetts Day!Have you ever lived in or visited Massachusetts? If so, tell us what's great about the Bay State!

Can you give us more info please? Your approx. age, and the approx ages of your children would help us understand where you are coming from better.
Also how often do you have dialysis?
Sorry to hit you with more questions than support.
Managing your depression, better communication with family members and getting help is. I suggest counseling recommended from your medical provide or from your church or someone you trust to talk these things through. Your life is valuable, and taking the time to let others know your pain is worth everything to ensure that life takes on a better quality.
Joni Eareckson Tada is a great example of someone overcoming a devastating accident which kept her bound to a wheelchair. Depression was her number one battle. Here’s her story on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2cqAl2U JONI’S STORY Please listen to this as it may give you hope!
Keeping you in thought and prayers.
Depression is not an easy thing to deal with as it begins to become debilitating and takes over the best parts of you.
While the effects of depression can take a toll on depression suffers we fail to realize just how much depression also effects our love one's as they sit back desperately wanting to help us but unsure how.
And while depression can get quite lonely it is in our loniness we can rediscover ourselves and find the beauty within ourselves we never thought we had.
Depression is hard for anyone but it is not a means for an end!
And stopping dialysis could very well increase your symptoms of depression even more so then before.
But as no one can tell you what to do or how to live your life consider those who care for you and allow them to become your support.
Beautiful Blessings...
What I need to do is make more friends. I have joined a club for women. It's called the Red Hat association. I have fun when I get together with them but it is just once a month. I hope to make some good friendships from this group once I get to know them better.
If I weren't on my own so much it would help a great deal. I see my doctor again this month I will see if there is a new medication I can try. It's just so limited with my kidney failure.
Thank you all so much for your kind words & support. It means a lot to me.
