Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

It seems like it is always something. I just needed to post here, I was going through my facebook and found out the most unbelievalbe thing. Someone I knew committed suicide-a friend of mine's wife. I just can't believe it. I went to high school with this guy, he was super nice, dorky, a cool dude though. Went to college with him part of the time too. He moved away and got married. You could see in all of the social media posts what a great life they had. They had four kids. She was very attractive and looked to be enjoying life greatly. They were smiling in all of their photos, this huge family, they had everything going for them. Apparently she did it Friday, she had been having health problems I guess and got depressed. It would be the last person you would ever expect to do something like this. It just goes to show that you never know what the situation is and how insidious mental health issues are, that they could happen to anyone. I mean here was a person who seemingly had it all. Nice husband, famlly, work, everything, and very pretty. Four beautiful sons. Astonishing. And I sit here in my turmoil, wondering at times why I am still here, and how I have to an extent learned to live with mental illness, to deal with the ups and downs, and that I internalize the mental illness as part of my identity and something that I reckon with and respect its power. Maybe she didn't get to this point.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Do you think anxiety is genetic or comes from your environment? What are your thoughts?
I had a friend, I met in school, When I was 11 (We were the same age, I was a few months older) We went to camp together,
Anyway, Like seven, Year's ago, I get a message from a friend on facebook, (a bunk-mate, from camp) He messaged me, to tell me he heard, My friend had died, Not sure what happened, although, His mother had cancer, And she had passed a few months earlier, And apparently, they were close, His mother was his biggest supporter,
He did have a bunch of issues, I know one those issues was weight.....Just one of many issues.
The biggest problem in this world, the rise in suicides, People would rather take the "easy way out" Rather then talking about it........But, I do think they think no one will understand.
Sorry for the rant.
