Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I have this friend. She's my best friend, but I'm not hers. That hurts and I'm not sure what to do about it. We're only "internet friends," but she's a big role model of mine. She's kind of "famous." Not Beyonce or Kim Kardashian famous, but in the public eye. I don't really care that she's "famous," I just wanted to give some context. I reached out to her and we've become close. We're genuine friends. We have a lot in common and it seems like she likes talking to me, especially because sometimes she reaches out to me to chat before I reach out to her. She's my best friend for two reasons. 1. She's awesome. 2. I don't have any other friends. I don't really have any way of making them. I go to community college and there aren't any student organizations, nor is there much to do in my small town. It just hurts because I value her so much more than she values me. But it's complicated, because it's not like she doesn't value me at all. She is extremely kind and helpful and puts time into our friendship and seems to genuinely like being friends with me. But I'm not her best friend. I'm not as high on her priority list as she is on mine. What should I do? Should I talk to her about it and she what she thinks? I'm not mad at her at all; she doesn't owe me friendship and tbh I shouldn't even consider her my best friend. But I don't have anyone else so I lean on her a little too much. I don't want her to just start talking to me more and acting like she values me more because I want her to. I'd rather she not value me as much than pretend to value me a lot. I'm not really sure what I'm asking or what kind of advice I'm seeking, but I'm just really drained.

I think what needs to be done is on your end, you need to figure a way to make more friends. Even Community Colleges have Organizations or perhaps try some meetup groups from FaceBook or see if the Library posts any clubs?
I'm not sure there's more that you can do than that.
Don't lean on her too heavily because there's no one else. Being needy can be a friendship-killer.
