The woman in Cal that had the octuplets already has 6 kids that live with her and her mother. She had fertility treatments and in-vitro to have these 8. I think that is irresponsible! Sure there are some people that feel it a woman's "right" to have baby, even if they can't afford them. Children are a privilege! Maybe this woman can afford them (although she has 14 kids now and no mention of a father for any of them) but she'll never be able to give each of them the individual attention that they will need. And I'd hate to be one of her previous children-they will not doubt be pressed into service as "mommy's helper"--what a way to spend your formative years! She is just adding to the population explosion. I'm not advocating Chinese standard of births, but have some sense of responsability. There are some couples that spend thousands on fertility treatments, in-vitros that don't take, to have just one child. Does this woman who already has 6 kids have a lot of money? WHy is she keeping quiet about her identity? Why did Kaiser Permanente answer the question about her fertility treatements state that they "have no policy" about it--don't tell me that insurance (which eventually comes down to us) paid for all of this!!!
Having a child is not just giving birth, it's also being able to house, feed, and cloth the child. Being able to raise him/her to be a good person, contributing to society, having good values. Making the child know that they are loved. You are shaping a person, not just birthing a baby!

i believe, even though its not enforced, if you cant supply a set fund for a child, the state or government can put the child into a housing program. to prevent issues like this.each child is valued at like 100 - 300 dollars, so she would need a stable 1400 - 4200 each month to keep all the children. otherwise theres risk that the children arent receiving basic needs.

All I can say is that I pray for the future for her children.

I agree. Fertility drugs are not cheap. She could have spent that money of psychotherapy. She obviously needs it.

The company for the fertility treatments says that they are not in the business of telling a woman how many children she should have. But now they are getting a lot of flak about the whole thing.

Actually, she already has eight kids. I don't fully understand the whole situation, but I don't understand what she was thinking, since she is living in a three-bedroom home!

I am allergic to Sulfa drugs meaning that my throat will swell up so my Neurologist put me on Topamax. I was suffering from major loud whoosing noises and the topamax helped that but everyday I still hear those mainly between 6 - 12 pm. I am at my wits end and have not went...
