Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
The ways that I try to "shake that feeling" myself, is to talk, write journals, and try to get motivated to do things/ activities/ chores/ goals/ etc. I find that when I take the time to get things done, that my mind doesn't work overtime on the depression. A trip to the store or the park to walk the dog, can do wonders to get me a little more positive. It doesn't always last long, so I try to do these kinds of things everyday. I also try to keep things in perspective by counting my blessings as they say. I will always realize that as bed as things are ( or have been ) for me, that they could indeed be worse.
Please take care and I hope that you may at least temporarily get to feeling a bit better.
Heeley honey i know its hard to read peoples minds and i havent really been here much myself either so i can relate to what you are saying. I think as i said to Anthony i am so down ive hit the 'poor little me, nobody cares stage' and i think we both know that is normally followed by angry outbursts and selfish behaviour that includes trying to hurt those that we love. Love and best wishes to you honey and im sure this will pass. xxxx
A wise woman, (well several actually) said to me live in the now! When you wash your hands, take time to enjoy the changes in the temperature of the water, the fragrance of the soap. Take time to close your eyes, breathe in the good smells, smile, just be. Take time to be you. Think about what emotions are making you feel so bad. Write them down. Think about them. Why are they so important?
I don't know where this is coming from, but I feel like you need space to just be, to take some time to feel and not be afraid of those feelings. Feelings are emotions, and we can deal with them.
Depression is a total pain in the arse. No one knows that like your fellow saddoe! Rest, relax into that feeling then look at how you can challenge it. You are such a valuable member of our community. Healing will come, but you have to give yourself space and time.

I was just having this conversation with another person yesterday, it was about this very thing. Anthony and Juice have it totally right!
Take notice of tiny, positive things. Just one little thing at a time. The taste of chocolate, the color of your child's eyes in sunlight...the way the sky changes, all the shades of blue, which birds are around again with the warmer weather returning...take note of them, write them down somewhere, keep that journal, ...and pretty soon, all those "little" positives become ALOT of positives, and you will see how beautiful life is, again. I already knew this, but it never hurts to be reminded.
I understand so well how you are feeling...am battling that very feeling myself!
Anyway, I really truly have missed you and am so sorry that you are so down. I hope that you fight it off with all your might and feel alot better soon. I love your picture you little doll. Hugs and love. Y'Vonne
