My father was a famous man, and I made the mistake of going into the same profession he was in. People have treated me like I"m nothing but his left foot. Or as though I'm trying to get somewhere by hanging onto his name, rather than by hard work. I'm worn out and tired from fighting this, but I don't want to change professions; I've worked too hard to get where I am. But I'm so discouraged and worn down it's hard to put one foot in front of the other. I just want to crawl away and hide.

I think lots of people in the world want to be famous. I know I wanted to be famous for a while. Not sure why people want to be famous. For me, it was money. I wanted to be able to do what I wanted, when I wanted.

Now that I am older, I lost my looks and I really would hate to be in a camera frame. Even in family photos or just casual photos, I avoid having my picture taken.

I feel that being famous could be good, but then there are lots of pretty mean people out there that would want to pick you apart. I don't think I want to be famous anymore. I do like to hear about famous people with talent though. Some of those people are really talented, some are not my forte.

Doesn't sound like it's fame you're after, just sounds like you want to be your own person and be recognized for who YOU are and your own accomplishments and not a shadow of your father. Just try to be the best you can be in what you're doing and hopefully people will eventually see you as your own person. I'm sure it's easier said than done and won't happen overnight. Hope things get easier for you!
