Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Hi everybody! It's 11:21 a.m. I've been up since around 3:30 a.m. I had a rough week. I have been helping a friend find a home or apartment to rent. Rent is unbelievable these days. She will be homeless on Saturday. I have put in many hours of searching. On Tuesday or Wednesday, I went to see my Aunt at a rehab 45 minutes away. I had to stop for mashed potatoes and gravy at one place and for sweet tea at another. Then the walk from the parking lot to her room is a real long walk. I have an injured knee. I had 2 more stops on the way home. I have been paying for it ever since. My insurance company denied the shots recommended by the orthopedic doctor and an appeal will be filed. I am tired of being in pain. Then on Friday, my best friend asked if I wanted to go out to a bar. This girl has been struggling with dieting and not drinking to drinking in excess and overeating. Her boyfriend recently broke up with her. He hates her drinking and 30 pound weight gain. So I said no, partially because I had no desire to go out and because I was mad that once again, she's drinking and overeating. I have suggested counseling. Then I was on Facebook and read some alarming posts from an old friend. She is suicidal but wants to be killed. Then her co-worker who I know wrote a loving post and my friend called her names and said that this co-worker wanted her dead. I wrote to the co-worker and she just asked me to pray. I really hope and pray that someone took her to the hospital. My Aunt is counting on a visit from me and my brother today. First we are eating lunch at a Diner. I had a conversation with my psycho Aunt that left me in tears. She said that it's very important that we come because it was really bad at the rehab last night. I don't believe her at all. She says abuse goes on at night. She has been to 2 hospitals and 2 rehabs and hasn't been happy anywhere. The common denominator is her. All of the nurses have been extremely nice. So she has sucked the life out of me one too many times and I do not want to hear her craziness. I would love nothing more than to get out of going but I locked myself in. I hope your week was better than mine.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
care for yourself first and foremost.
