Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

hi I’m Morgan. I’m new here I was recommended by a hotline. You don’t have to help me out I don’t mind ig I stopped caring about a lot of things. So um my mom makes me feel like I’m the villain in the family. I told her how I felt and how I wanna like die. She told me what I’m feeling is “bullshit” and that I’m “lying” because I want attention. I don’t. I just want someone to talk to. No one in my house listens to me. My own mom told me to go and kill myself because my attitude in the house is not to her liking. She wants me to be a perfect child.i try so hard but she always brings me back down. I even thought about killing myself death by carbon monoxide. I have 2 suicide attempts. Both of them are hanging.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Hope the dog days of summer aren't getting you down!

I am so sorry that you are going through this.
Many parents are not able to deal with depression in their kids, sounds like your mother is one of them. Can you talk to any other family members about this? In an ideal world your mother would be on your side, but this does not appear to be the case. If you can get some therapy, that would be GREAT! Some people who have had mom's like you (or other family members who don't understand depression) have had good luck taking that person to therapy a time or two so that the therapist can help them understand.
Gentle hugs
Mothers have the power to lift us up or tear us down. I'm sorry that you have the latter. You are a wonderful and worthwhile person, despite what your family says and thinks. Idk how old you are but once you are 18, hit the road. Go to college, go to work, volunteer for the Peacecorps, do whatever your heart desires. Until then, minimize contact by staying away from them. Some people will never change and you can't change them.
I don't mean lock yourself in your room. I mean to do something in the here and now that you enjoy and possibly can help you build toward the future. Sports, clubs, volunteering, work etc. It's up to you and that's the beauty in this - it's your choice how your life goes. No one else.
Don't kill yourself. I promise this pain is not forever even if it feels like it now. Many hugs. - KB

Psalm 139:13-16New International Version (NIV)
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
Let me tell you that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, I had some issues with my parents growing up, and I realized that I had just a few more years until I turned 18. So, I decided to put myself into schoolwork and get a scholarship for college. It worked, I got out of my parents home and found that life is excellent, and now that I’m older my mom and I get “along” so there is always hope for your relationship. Your information leaves a lot of questions unanswered, however just know that you are not alone on this planet and that you are strong. I know this because you are on this website and you called a hotline, so you're resourceful. Keep you the hard work; it will pay off.
