Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Hello,
Has anyone here really had a hard time ending a friendship? Like you are so burnt out and you realize that you just can't stand the person-it's not even one specific thing they did, but you realize that whenever you get together with them, they are so on your nerves that you and you have come to the conclusion that it's no longer a fit?
And what if that person refuses to let go?
I feel like the calls, invitations and texts are incessant. Today I received an invitation to the same event that I received an invitation to several weeks back. I ignored that invitation, and got a follow up. I let today's phone call go to voicemail, and it's Mother's Day. I ignored the call and voicemail as I was busy and also want her to get the message that I keep sending-that I'm not interested-that I keep saying no over and over to invitations, only to receive more invitations. When she saw me respond in a text thread, I got another follow-up text saying, "did you get my voicemail?"
I am starting to get so angry. I don't want the relationshp. This person is connected to a lot of other relationships that I have, and I'm at the point that I'm OK with losing the other relationships to end this one. I. don't. want. it!!!!
I've told maybe one or two people in my life that I didn't want to be friends anymore. It was hard and I didn't want to. I really don't want to do it again, and I feel like I'm being forced. I got home today and had a card from her in my mailbox. I hate it and I'm starting to hate her.
I think for the most part when you start to back off, most people will get it and they will back off also. I've had a couple in my life that just won't. How do you handle this? I've been a friend of the family. I guess I might lose the relationship altogether with the rest of the family if I end this but I don't want to be forced into anything anymore. The long gushy note from her today was about how grateful she was for all of our years of friendship. Her dad just died, which is too bad, and it was bound to happen despite our being friends, I would have skipped out anyway. I only agreed to send the flowers because the rest of our group did. I sent a card, and I was being polite, but it was just the bare minimum. I feel like I did my due diligence and I'm done.
She's probably going to scream and throw a fit if I have to confront her directly, which I don't want to do, I don't need another insane person flipping out on me.
I honestly don't know what to do. I feel like I have a stage five clinger on my hands.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

So voc rehab finally got in touch with me...it took like six months finally. The voc rehab person that they assigned to me is a lawyer and extremely knowledgable on disability law and he seems to know a great deal about how to get people placed in jobs and how to make their resumes pass ATS. I was really surprised at how articulate and energetic he is. I guess my question is how much I...
I am in a similar situation with a family, Only their son has mental problem's And does not have a brother (He has a sister) The family made me (And possibly other's) pretend to be his little brother.........The thing's he did and said just made me feel so uncomfortable...........Long story short, the whole family feel's bad he doesn't have a little brother, and is trying to make other's feel bad I think.. The whole family has PTSD
And the family refuses to talk about the issue.
So, I have been thinking ending it, thing is, we have known the family for like 40+ Year's, so it's hard.
It is hard letting someone go You have known for a while, But, if there's bad blood You have to and people can't talk to You about thing's, You have to let them go.
You'll make the right decision
