Please forgive me if I hurt or offend anyone here. I do not want to say or do anything that is going to trigger somone to hurt themselves or end thier own lives.
My question is, why do we try to stop people from commiting the S. Word? I don't want to say it because I feel guilty for even thinking this, but when I am down in the darkest places within myself, I always always know that even if I climb out of this hole, I'm going to fall back into it again, no matter how hard i try, no matter what I do, nothing goes well for me, everything is a thorn, I'm naked in the thorn bush, and when I move to try to ease the pain of one thorn, I just get stabbed by another. This is the way of samsara or "life" according to Buddhist thought, and the goal to renounce our wish to come back, I don't want to come back and that is for damned sure, but I also often want to leave now, now. Today I am feeling like I want to end it, and if I had made up my mind I would not post because I know people would try to talk me out of it. I don't go through with it because it doesn't end the pain, it just passes it on to those who do love and care for us, and I do have a few people who do care for and depend deeply on me.

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

I don't think that anyone that has been battling deep depression for years, or even a very bad moment, hasn't thought of the "S" word at least once, in my opinion.
We all get in that deep dark hole and it feels like we'll never get out, yet somehow/someway we always do! With that being said I hope you find some help and don't do it. Hugsxx
We all have some degree of self-preservation; if not for ourselves then for others especially for those that are in that dark place. None of us 'wish' this kind of despair on even our worse enemy...It pains me to see anyone with the same pain that I have...
I just stop them from doing something they don't want to do, because they don't see any other alternative.
The Suicide Issue is a challenge in teh giant obstacle course of life. It's a huge brick wall. If you're jumping up at it trying to get over for long enough you might give up and quit the game...
But if you don't, if you get over it, you can move on with life and leave it entirely behind you.
Most times when a person is suicidal it's because they're sucked in by their problems and don't realise there's a door in the wall.
Yes, that's right. The door in the wall. Look for it. Find it. Go through it. Leave ideas of suicide behind you, because they're a maturational step and you have to get past it to start enjoying life.
I've never known anyone suicidal who actually liked the idea of not being alive and actively pursued the idea of death because that was their idea of a good time. They only do it because they can't stand the situation they are in and this is all they can think of.
like one question I've asked myself is could the suicidle ideation be the results of a population that is growing to fast, (Humans) like statistically, does the percentage of people who attempt suicide rise as the population rises, it would be interesting to write an article about this question.
But I have to say about suicide: sod morality. Sod ethics. The real issue is that it's mind-blowingly stupid.
It's got to be the thickest thing a person can do. One could make the argument that anyone who goes through with it is surely making the world a better place. Certainly raising the IQ.
Mum used to say that if that is the most positive contribution to society they think they can make with their life, then let them go hard at it. I agree with this.
The reality is that if someone gives me $100 I can spend it, I can save it, or I can burn it.
Burning it is stupid. No two ways about that. Truly stupid. Who misses out if I burn it? Me. I miss out. Does anyone else miss out? Nope.
And that's what suicide is. I don't care how crumpled that $100 bill is, I don't care if it stinks of wee. Burning it is still the most stupid thing I can do with it.
Now that was one very smart person.
I know I'm not a stupid person when I thought about it! When I was raped at 14 and told the woman that gave birth to me what happened I got told I deserved it, hence why I really fell in the deep black hole and wanted to die and almost did until I stopped myself.
I don't know you bridgie101 but reading some of your posts to people when they're on here seeking support is down right brutal! Remember the saying of if you can't say anything nice then don't say it at all? Just my 2 cents...
I still wasn't stupid enough to do it.
I'm sorry if the truth hurts, but you have to confront the waste of your life if you want to stop wasting it. And I was asked my opinion, and I gave it. If people don't want a free and frank debate, they should preface their questions with 'only tell me what I want to hear' and then they should list the things they want to hear. Don't you think?
You get one life. One life. You don't get to go back into some pool and get another body when you die. This is it. This is your only go.
You can waste your adult life like I did, or you can learn something from what I'm saying, and get moving.
