Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I'm so depressed I don't want to get off the couch. Nothing helps me. I'm in constant pain which makes the depression worse. I want to end my life. I don't want to live anymore.

Oh honey how can i help you ? If you want to talk write !

I have chronic pancreatitis and it's causing me so much pain. My pancreatitis doctor gave up on me so now I have to go to St Louis for treatment. However I can't get in there til November. I just want to die.

Is it possible for you to go to the ER? I find when my depression is at it's worst, I find something interactive or something that involves critical thinking. It distracts you from dark thoughts and feelings. There are people here who care. Take a deep breath and take it a step at a time; even small steps help you feel like you've accomplished something. Sometimes my baby steps are getting up and showering, but I know at least I've done something. Let me know if you ever need to talk. <3

I can't offer advice but I want to send a hug of support and understanding. I hope you get help with this soon.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

So sorry you are suffering so much. Is there any kind of pain killer you can take? Maybe it's not so much that your doctor gave up on you but rather felt he had tried everything he knew to do and is now sending you to a place where they can do more for you. Sometimes that happens. Have you considered the Mayo clinic?
janev825
Yes I have Vicodin but it does nothing for the pain. No I haven't considered mayo clinic.

I am sorry you are in so much pain mentally and physically. You are strong to have dealt with this for so long.

I'm really sorry you are in so much pain. Life is really hard sometimes but please dont give up. I dont know exactly what you're feeling but i'm also in pain most of the time because of my fibromyalgia. It's so horrible to have to feel like this but please keep trying to find ways to help yourself feel better mentally and physically. It's not always easy but it is do able. Sending all my love and hugs to you

Thanks

Not sure what to say but didn't want to ignore your post for help. I've been where you are without the chronic pain. Can't imagine how difficult it is to deal with that too. Glad you are going to St. Louis. If the pain is unmanageable I'd take myself to the ER and maybe get connected to another doctor sooner. You shouldn't have to suffer for so long!
janev825
Thanks Debbalina. I actually live with my parents. (I have disabilities that prevent me from living on my own). The ER is to expensive for them. (My dad just retired). Plus St Louis University Hospital is supposed to be the best pancreatitis doctors in Missouri. I'm on the cancellation list too.

I can't imagine what you're going through, but I can lift you in prayer. Can you find a local doctor to help manage your pain? I hope you will consider finding a counselor to help you with your depression. You're not alone!
janev825
I found a pain specialist. All he tried was Lyrica. It didn't work plus it gave me a bad headache. I can't get back into him til November.
