Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Do you have a supportive circle of family/friends? Are you in counseling and/or seeing a psych doc for meds? I know some people don't like doing either or but with a traumatic experience as this you need all the help you can get! If you can't see a counselor right now go on https://www.rainn.org
It's a wonderful site.
As far as going away it's never going to be gone for good (well speaking for myself); You find ways to heal/move on to learn how to cope.
My rape happened when I was 14 and I just turned 42 and I can still see it like it was yesterday, even down to the outfit/shoes/earrings I wore that day. The flashbacks are strongest when November comes around since that's the month/date it happened. Some years are good, some ok, and some are bad:(
You'll get through this with time/patience/therapy. Big big hugs!
Dear Lord,
Please lift up Aly. I will never understand those who suffer from this terrible pain. I just pray that you will be with her and help her heal. I pray that she will be able to know YOU are with her, and that she doesn't have to be afraid/ashamed/or anything else that is causing her suffering. May you comfort her and bring her strength and healing!
In Jesus Name,
Amen
I agree with gregs advice about counseling and RAINN
also, we have a PTSD group here at DS as well and there is a really good community of people there if you want to check it out for some more support from people who get what you are going through..

Of course ... I am very sorry ... you are a victim ... and I am sorry this happened to you. You CAN survive it ... it IS treatable.
http://www.traumacenter.org. You are a survivor not a victim. A victim does not reach out and you reached out! Everyone on here is right you have to keep reaching out for safe support. Whatever you are thinking, feeling, let it out talk about it. This and EMDR is the only way I know to heal. You can do it ~Big Hugs.
