Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I am engaged. And for the past year, I've been happier than ever. But about three weeks ago, I fell into a serious depressive episode. My fiance has been so supportive! But I feel like it's wearing on him. I'm scared my depressed brain is going to cause me to push him away. My mind lies to me and makes me feel worthless. I know he's tired of me being depressed. I'm afraid he's having second thoughts about me. But then I think, no, that's a distorted thought. He loves me. I tell myself positive things, but sometimes, it's hard to believe the good. I love him more than anything. But faking happiness is so hard. It drains my energy.
My pdoc lowered my Prozac from 20mg to 10mg because of an intolerable side effect. The depression seemed to lift with the 20mg when he added it to my med list. But I had a side effect that I simply will not live with. So, he lowered. Now, no side effect, but I'm miserable again. I called him today, but he doesn't have any available appointments until the 21st. That's a long time. I don't know what to do. I thought about going to my pcp and asking her for something just until I see my pdoc.
I am going to lose everything because my brain is wired wrong. HELP!
