Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I am not sure what to think of this, but I am part of an in-person support group that has a telephone list, and sometimes there are social activities. I have a good friend from there. Anyway, when I use the phone list and call the people on it, people do not take my call. This bothers me. I really don't call people too often, so I am not sure what the problem is. I think it's strange.
I have a person from the group with whom I hang out from time to time. She is very nice, I like her, but I am not sure if I should invite her to a small birthday get together. Here is the reason why. She wants to bring someone else from the group everywhere we go. I like her too, but there is kind of a problem with this. Whenever we go out on a social basis, the lady talks about things socially that you really would only talk about in a therapy or group setting. She goes into extreme detail of her se*** abuse over beers, using words like c**k, etc. And frankly, I am scared to death. I am worried if I bring ppl. from the group (this person in particular) that there will be discussion with other ppl. (people I socialize with) talks about suicide and molestation, etc. This would surely put an end to the social circle I have outside of the support group. I think I would die if these topics came up, but the woman has MPD and just says whatever she wants at any time. I am not sure how this would work out. The other friend has some depression like me, but I can generally trust her to act alright in different circumstances. I get really frightened when ppl. go into detail of topics like this in random, everyday circumstances. I am torn on what to do. If I invite one, the other will come too!
In this group, people 'tell their truth' as they say, but I'm afraid they are going to tell it all the time, everywhere!!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Don't make this person choose between you and her, make that clear. Just tell her that you like to keep your two worlds separate and that 3rd person does not do a good job of it like she does.
