Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I've been having a very hard time with guys... been treated not so nicely.. I had one who I have no recollection of talking to say my personality is terrible, and that I wouldn't find anyone to date me.. also that I was flaky and dumb.. I was going to meet another guy for dinner, but I texted to ask him if we could change it cause I couldn't afford it at the moment and I would have to wait till I got paid next time.. Than he says something that really got me too.. he told me he wasnt really intrested anyways, and that's why he hadn't texted me since yesterday.. and also said he could see why the other guy didnt want to date me.. I know its probably dumb to get upset over because I dont know them but hearing those things really really hurt and honestly felt my self esteem and confidence go down the drain... It made me feel worthless and that nobody would ever want me around.. I can't explain how these comments made me feel but it made me want to end things right there because they made me believe I wasnt good enough... its really affected me especially the words, and thinking that's what people really thing of me... I just cried and felt so much pain.. it never ends

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

Let's start with young men (boys). Their FIRST desire for a female is sexual. They are capable of 'being in love', and many are, but the testosterone is beginning to rage and female = sex, generally speaking. That was true when I was young and even more true now with the sexual revolution behind us.
Way back then, it was an ongoing battle with him trying to coerce her and her saying NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. Talk about getting off to a bad start. SOME convinced her that he truly loved her and she 'gave in'. It went either up hill or down hill from there. Sorry to say it, but mostly down hill.
Now days, it is not any better. It is worse. Young men expect sex from any woman they 'court' ... immediately. LOVE? Most don't even know what that is now. Ask ... and you will get all kinds of answers. The real answer is "when their happiness brings you happiness". Let me know as soon as you get that answer.
I have no wonder that women resent men these days. It has not improved over the years, . it has become worse.
By the way, in my day, if she met him for dinner, he paid for it. The dinosaur that I am says that is how it is NOW .... I would ENTIRELY expect to.
I like sex. I like it as much as I ever did. But now, at my age, it is not the 'big thing' that it was when I was young. Then ... it was the GOAL. Now, it is a benefit from a good relationship. That is what happens when testosterone stabilizes, I guess.
Frankly, if I were a female today, I would not count on anything from a man ... it is probably a bad deal that is made with one. I say PROBABLY ... but the 'good way' DOES happen. It just takes a long time for both parties to recognize a 'good one'.
I don't know if I have been helpful. This has not been very optimistic reply.
I hope romance comes to you and you find happiness.
