Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Hello everyone,I need your advice again about my daughter, soon to be 13.She is battling depression, suicidal ideation, and cutting. Some if you here know me and may remember our story. We have been doing homebound since Sept but now it is time for her to go back, she switched schools, the other one in the district and they have offered us a lot of support but now my daughter is saying she does not feel safe enough to go.I know she is probably nervous and she has always had school anxiety. My question is do I just force her to go and if she cuts there then so be it.There is not a lot I can do.She will probably cut just to go home but how do I know how far to push? She can't avoid social situations forever but I also don't want to push her over the edge. She wants to be home schooled but all her doctors advise against it,she tends to isolate herself and I just can't have her making decisions that could effect her health.Have any of you had problems going to school?

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

a bully situation!! and afraid to share.
Sometimes Friends are not always what's best for a situation like this, you are what's best for this at this point,
Cause the least of who you think is a friend.
may be the very one that's triggering these outbursts, and your 13 year old may be feeling a sense of guilt , in many ways.
Try to stick with your 13 yr old daily, seek out family activities, field trips, window shopping ,Library, music, exercise, some ideas to help ease the anxiety.
Why can't she be homeschooled? So what if she self isolates?
Are you available to homeschool? Are you able to do it? Or not.
If you can, I would. If you can't, I wouldn't. You don't have to listen to experts telling you not to let her isolate. They don't know everything; anything they do say is just another opinion - sometimes right, sometimes wrong. What does your mother's heart tell you? Your mother's heart can veto any expert.
What do they say about experts? "X: the unknown quantity. Spurt: a drip under pressure."
Do what you can with what you've got. That way you have no reason to blame yourself should things go pear shaped. If she doesn't have to go back to school then why inflict that torture on her?
School has only existed for the masses for maybe 100 yrs. It's a fad, a passing phase. Do what your gut wants you to do.
I don't know that th
