Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

It is said they will know us by the tracks we leave behind. With that in mind my thoughts turn to my second son. He is confused by the divorce and has sided with his mother for whatever reasons. I got to watch a video recording of him from almost three years ago when he and his mom thought a combined lie would find me guilty of domestic violence. So he tells police the routine and time that normally I would walk my dog. But the thing that really sealed my feelings was his effort to hide his smile when police are saying that he isn't in trouble and is only helping his mom. He went on pretending to be a son until the end of last summer into the fall when at thanksgiving he called and laughing wished me a happy birthday. At that point I then began having a prowler at night tampering with my gates. So I set a trap that whoever was doing these nighttime gate tampers would find their hand and fingers stained with yellow dye that won't wash off and guess who did I find with a yellow hand? Yeah second born child, I trespassed him from the property and I now only have one son I recognize. The other knows if I catch him near the property the penalty will be from police not me. So with that thought I should only see one set of tracks behind me from now on.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
forgiveness is a gift, for You, to face what is reality, to let go of what is out of your control....Depression is anger turned inward....when you let go of anger and resentment from the past which is Gone....Your Healing Will Begin and Moving forward towards a new path of hope in your life journey,
I don't think a parent should ever give up on a child. A Divorce and having to choose sides is one of the hardest thing a child can be expected to do. Have you considered that if you put as much energy into trying to re-connect with your child as you do being angry with him and banning him from his fathers home, that he might, just might figure out that he can be okay with both parents living in separate places? Have you offered to get this child therapy so he has someone non-biased to talk to? Parents don't get to just give up on their children, its a relationship that goes cradle to grave, no excuses.....and the adult parents are the ones responsible for helping their children through the really hard times.
I have 2 sons, 27 & 18, I've been divorced from a 24 yr. marriage for about 6 yrs. now. For my oldest son, it wasn't a big deal, he was 19, but my younger son was 11 and he had a really rough time with it. He's on his way to University this year, and he's not keen on talking to me often, or his dad (because he hates his stepmom and his dad is a drunk), but I still text him every other day, I still send him a long email once a week, I still leave a voicemail every Monday. He may be angry and confused, but he's still my child and I still let him know regularly that I'm here for him, no matter what. At least he knows I'm here if he needs me....
Good luck.
