whatever...at least we know she is real and can find ways to get her the help she needs. i think there is a major difference here to what you are worried about and what was happening, and if she was asking it would be different. if you don't like it ignore it! no one asked anyone to help specifically, it was up to them if they wanted to and to me that is totally different so i feel you are dead wrong!!!!!!! but thanks anyway.

I think Jesse is protecting us and we....I am grateful for that. I'm think this case is genuine, but maybe there are others in need of homes/ or money for meds aswell. If we give to one, do we give to every one in need. Only my thoughts.

Something I wanted to add was when did giving someone money, help them with their money problems. I know everyones hearts were in the right place but this is only a temperary solution.

There are local smaller non profit organizations in my community that we donate food and clothing to a couple times a year. Just yesterday I dropped off a bag of canned concentrated fruit juices that have been accumulating in my pantry. I threw in a jar of peanut butter too. :)

First, thanks to Jesse for your input, care and concern. As a caretaker of Daily Strength, we realize that the community affiliated with this site as a whole must be protected for the good of all, and not the convenience of a few.

Pepper, you make excellent points about precedent. Personally, I feel that the recipient in question is an honest, caring individual with no hidden agendas. But a predator lying among us may be taking in all of this fundraising activity quietly, and prepare to surface in the weeks and months ahead to take advantage of such a precedent and cause harm to many good, caring souls affiliated with D.S.

There is NOTHING stopping concerned folks from forming a group on a public internet site (which does NOT compete with D.S.) and continuing with charitable endeavors in any way that new group sees fit.

To all of you earlier today who volunteered to help a fellow member whose need appeared genuine and real - you are all to be commended for your spirit, your dedication, and your interest in the human soul.

Its a case of taking peoples choices away jesse. I just feel that Ds is treating us all like we are incapable of thinking for oursleves. For those of you who donate to cahrities...thats great. But thats your choice. This was ours and noone will make me feel like it was wrong. We helped someone today. Not just with words...but with actions and im proud of all who helped or wanted to. I have never seen DS band together like we did today...and yet, this good thing that we did for a fellow member has tried to be stopped by other members and DS. Theres a fine line between right and wrong sometimes and if I worked for DS and saw people reporting us for what we did...I would personally be disgusted that anyone out there was that mean to do that but hey...thats just me :)
