Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I've been awful lonely lately. One of my best friends has just gone home from a month long trip to see her children. I'm letting her reacclimate to being home and spend time with her fiance. My other good friend has been distant. He's going through a lot both mentally and with his family. I'm giving him space as well.
Now I just feel lonely. I call dad every day when he gets off work. He has a fair drive home so it's nice to have his undivided attention for that time. And mom calls me on her breaks at work too.
With just the digs at home, I get lonely and I try to stay busy but 9 hours with barely any social interaction is hard. I did see my therapist today and that was nice.
How do you cope with loneliness?

Good morning, and welcome to a new week! This week is National Mental Illness Awareness Week. Be sure to treat yourself with Extra kindness this week - as I hope you do all year long - and perhaps encourage another to better understand what having a mental illness is all about. Have an awesome day!

My sister got married last night. She asked our bio fat her to walk her down the aisle. Our biological parents divorced when I was 12. I'm now 35. I have my seen or spoken to him since I was 17. She has a relationship with him and has for many years. I don't get it. Anyway, knowing he was there the whole time and seeing him was very traumatic for me. He was told by my sister not to speak to...

I would call your friends and see if they'd like to go out for coffee or lunch??
Everyone needs a break sometime
They might enjoy getting together for some light of heart hours
I'm pretty reclusive so I'm good hanging out with our critters
These are a few things i do to ease the extreme pain of loneliness:
-I fill mon-fri working for a non-profit.
-I walk an hour after my work day.
-I talk to my bestie for hours, because she is usually tied to her work computer for 12 hours per day
-Lots of road trips
-Strike up conversations with people I feel safe around to see if I can make a new friend (I do have one new friend, Ian, from this strategy)
-Fill time with some hobbies (thrifting, hiking, Journaling, trying new foods, etc)
-Daydream about retirement (where I want to live and what I want to do in my free time)
-Last Sunday I went to church for maybe the first this year. I may go again next Sunday
