Lately I've noticed that women seem to be getting worse and worse at doing their make up - tackier and tackier. I can't stand make up in the first place, haven't worn it myself since high school (except for at a couple weddings in which I was a bridesmaid, but I wouldn't let them put a lot on lol). Some make up can look ok - like a bit of foundation or powder that is THE RIGHT TONE, or some mascara and natural/neutral coloured shadow... bronzer can look nice if it's done right. But I honestly think it only looks good if it looks natural - browns, tans, etc. I don't understand women who cake make up onto their faces, or who wear ridiculous colours. What I've been seeing a lot of lately is women wearing the wrong tone in their foundation. Like this one girl I saw yesterday... her whole face was freaking ORANGE! Not only that, but she was wearing about 50lbs of eyeshadown and liner. She looked like a complete moron. Sad part is, it looked to me like she was actually a pretty girl under all that make up. I see this all the time. Women think they are ugly, and that the only way men will find them attractive is if they literally hide their faces under a shit load of make up. No. Sorry. Doesn't work that way. I've grown up around all guys, and hang out with guys all the time. I know a thing or two about what they want. So, here is was a guy thinks of a woman based on her make up:
Wearing so much make up that it makes you wonder what she actually looks like: he thinks "she is ugly, but possibly easy, so 'round quarter to two, she just might do...".
Wearing the wrong tone: he thinks "she looks like a moron, and probably is a moron, so.. she's probably pretty easy to get into bed."
Wearing green/blue/etc eyeshadow high above the crease: he thinks "how much does she charge?"
Wearing natural/neutral colours, lightly, not overdone: he thinks "she looks intelligent and cute. I think I might like to go talk to her"
Wearing little to no make up: he thinks "she looks intelligent and cute. I think I might like to go talk to her."
Seriously... every guy I know says the same thing - they don't find it attractive when women wear so much make up that you can tell she is wearing make up from across the room. They like it when a girl gets a little dolled up, but not when she overdoes it. They either want just a wee bit of make up, or none at all. Why? Because they want to know what a girl actually looks like. A guy will take a girl home for a night or two that's caked the make up on, but it's because she looks insecure and therefore easy. He doesn't want a relationship with her, because he assumes she is fake, insecure, etc. Also, no guy wants to be dating a girl for more than a week or two without seeing her without make up on - he wants to know what she looks like. So, if you're, essentially,. lying about what you look like for the first couple weeks you're dating someone, you're asking for trouble.
I don't really know why I'm writing this... I guess I am just really sick and tired of seeing plastic freaking women everywhere I go. They just feed into the idea that our gender has nothing of value but our looks, and that looks are the most important thing for a girl to worry about. We should concern ourselves with being healthy and looking healthy, definitely.. but if you're spending an hour in front of the mirror every morning, and going to the bathroom to "fix your face" multiple times a day, you've got a freaking problem. We should be concentrating much more of our time and energy on exercising our brains and developing our talents - becoming whole people rather than just a shell. why don't (most) men wear make up? Because they are socially valued for their strength, their brains, etc - not their looks. Why do (most) women wear make up? Because they are socially valued for their looked, not their strength, their brains, etc. Study after study has shown that when two women apply for the same job (even when the employer is a woman!) the more attractive one almost always gets hired, regardless of the comparative qualifications of the two. Something is seriously not right about that. And women are just as much part of the problem as men are. Women judge one another extremely harshly, because so damn many of us are so insecure in ourselves that we feel the need to judge other women more harshly. We spend hundreds to thousands of dollars a year on make up, hair products, weight loss programs, uncomfortable clothing, and cosmetic surgery. We spend more of our time when preparing for a job interview on our appearance than we do on the answers we will give. Something's got to change. And I think a good place to start is taking an axe to the make up kit.

23 yrs ago, youd swear you were looking at a clown with big hair.(LOL)
Today in my 40's, I wear little to nothing and always nuetral colors, I do believe in good skin care and anti-aging creams.
But to see someone as you described, yes hiddius and really cheap looking as we would say looked like a hooker or clown.
I love the natural look, Thanks
I am more then sure that the majority of man kind agrees. LOL orless their the ones wearing the makeup.
On the otherhand, a young highschooler loads up on makeup, and looks like a hooker, but actually doesn't understand what is going on because she is too young. Her problem is not a good role model, perhaps.
I try to not jump to conclusions based on appearance. I could too often be mistaken.
At least those are the tips Steveypooz PM'd me last week ...
You you feel good not wearing make up...so be it. IM not sure what kind of men you ask about this, but in my experience, NO-ONE likes very heavy make up.
Personally? I wouldnt leave my house without make up on....NOT plastered thick heavy make up but make up that allows me feel good about myself.
Those are my personal standards....and standards that I like. No matter what men think of it...its NOT their decision...but MINE!...lol
Hugs

I dye my hair red. I don't do it to look better or to look more attractive. I do it because I love the colour red and because I wear my hair slightly over my face, I get to see red all day. LoL I am sure, though, that a lot of people assume I dye my hair because I think I am more attractive as a redhead.
