Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
That doesn't require you doing everything perfect. It doesn't require you making every right decision. As humans we are flawed and imperfect from the very beginning.
Loving yourself means you accept yourself as you are and you come to terms with the parts of yourself that you cannot change. It means to have self-respect, a positive self-worth, and unconditional self-acceptance.
Self-Respect: Get to know yourself. The more you understand about yourself, the more you'll see and appreciate how unique you really are, and the more you'll respect yourself. Discover your principles, personality, and talents. It can take a while to complete this exciting process of self-discovery, but you'll see that it was worth it.
Positive Self-Worth: Understand the power of your attitude toward yourself. How you perceive yourself, how you talk about yourself, and how you represent yourself eventually becomes the reality for you. And if it happens that you're putting yourself down, belittling your worth, and making light of your talents in the face of others, then you will appear as low in self-esteem, and almost a part of the wallpaper. Self-worth is what enables us to believe that we are capable of doing our best with our talents, of contributing well in society, and that we deserve to lead a fulfilling life. Building it up again is therefore natural, essential, and healthy.
Unconditional Self-Acceptance: Self-acceptance is the ability to accept yourself as you are instead of how you wish you were. It is the basis of much of our happiness in life, yet for many it is easier said than done. Getting through life happily and peacefully requires us to understand the balance of positive and negative and work towards accepting anything that life may throw our way unconditionally.
These are ways to learn how to love yourself and become happy with just you. Once your happy being just you, then being part of a relationship becomes easier, with less hurdles.
