I should add that it took about 6 weeks or so to really kick-in.

After a week on it I have only good things to say. I was taking prozac for a few months but could only drink water. I felt like I had a caffeine iv in my arm. tweaky jittery, crappy sleep. Lexapro is calming and realxing and the anti anxiety properties are great. I think most people start out at too high a dosage and the sides hit them like a truck. try taking 5mg dose for 5-7 days before upping it to 10mg the standard dosage. lexapro will generally work great from the beginning or suck ass from the beginning. if it dosent improve in 3 weeks generally its time to move on. thats just what i've read from others. it works for me so im sticking with it.

I'm new here this is my first post. I've been on Lexapro for about a year. I started out at 20 mgs and am now at 40. It helps a lot with the anxiety and the depression. Having said that I won't lie that I've been depressed lately due to mostly situations and stress the past 6 months or so.

Lexapro kind of worked for me, it did not seem "strong enough", though and seemed to make my anxiety more prominent, but still managable.

Lexapro has been wonderful for me. Took some getting used to. Finally had to take it at night, no nausea, i wake up fine, pleanty of energy, still get depressed, but not suicidal, anxiety is manageable. But heaven forbid I miss a dose! I am depressed, angry, anxiety is horrable. all in all once it was in my system i love it.

Lexapro worked wonders for me too. However, it made me extremely tired for months on end. So much so that I felt like I was dragging 100 lbs everywhere I went. Sadly, I had to give it up because of that. I'm on Effexor now but it's not working like Lexapro did for me. When I was Lexapro I felt like I did as an innocent young girl with her whole life ahead of her.
