Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Soooooooo, the past few months have been rather shite and this lockdown hasn't helped! I'm not feeling myself and feeling really depressed and I know I can always talk to my partner I just don't know how to explain what I feel as I'm not even totally sure myself. I do know that I'm doubting everything I'm doing and worrying about things that I don't even know the outcome of yet. I'm still working (no rest for healthcare) and I enjoy my job so it's keeping me busy in a sense but I don't have the energy to book shifts in catch 22!

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). It’s hard to describe what your feeling to another person who does not share the same symptoms. You can only describe what might be making you feel the way that you do. You might try relaxation skills like deep breathing from the belly, meditation or gentle movement like Tai Chi. You might also journal your thoughts and feeling which can give you insight as to why you feel like you do.
Thank you for your service. I hope you can find some relief. May peace be with you.
