Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

No one judges you my friend, and even if they did, would the words of strangers make you sad and distressed? I believe that family and close friends matter most to each of us. Why should the criticisms of the mass bother and wound us? If it is safe to disclose what's troubling you to your family and friends, perhaps you should discuss with the people who love you most as to what you can do for yourself.
However, no one has the right to tell you how to feel or do. Once you have calmed down sufficiently and can think things through with more clarity, the solutions will dawn on you.
Sleep is one way to avoid the situation, but it is only a short-term solution. To unravel your problem, tackle the problem head-on until you have resolved the issues. To defeat the demon of fear, you must confront your fear and do the things that seem right to you, even if you dislike them intensely.
The sun always come out after a rainy day, and tomorrow is an opportunity to start anew !!
It's lovely outside, have a nice day !! Marie :)
Are you seeing a therapist? One treatment I am going through is exposure therapy. You can try it. You write down your night terror in as much detail as you can remember. You write it every night or read it until it’s less scary, then you rewrite it so it’s less scary and do the same. Write out the new scenario. It’s thought to rewire the way you think.. if you have a therapist you can ask about it.
I’ve had a fear of sleeping for a long time. I am just starting to sleep through the night 6-7 hours compared to the 2-3 hours I use to get. Know that you are not alone. You can always post on this board for support.
It is important to get things out and not let them eat us up inside.
I struggled with sleep and I found melatonin to help me. It is natural. I know you don't want to share things but keep them inside only makes things worse. I know for me my depression is chemical.
Are you on medication? It takes time to find the right one. It took me over a year.
Getting on the right medication really helped me, along with journaling every day my mood, what I am thinking, and what I am grateful for.
I am learning if I look at things I can celebrate in my life it really helps change my perspective. I have also learned if an unhealthy negative thought comes in my mind, I visual putting on a cloud and sending it away. Then I immediately try to replace it with an uplifting thought.
During my depressive episodes I find this pretty impossible but I still push forward because I know I will feel better.
I also pray daily, really talk to God, and listen to uplifting and encouraging sermons and music. I will be praying for you. Please continue to reaching out here. We are here for you. God Bless.
