Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

So maybe lets start somewhere at the beginning - have you seen a doctor about your depression?
But having said that, ...
I believe that knowledge is power! The more we know about depression in general, and what the 'cause' of our depression is, the stronger we can be.
TRIGGERS! Learn what triggers you. If, for example, you were traumatized by something as a child, then that may be part of your depression. Learn what you can about it. Sometimes avoidance is the best thing at first; as you learn more about it you can confront it starting with little things working up to a full on attack. Therapy can really help you develop a strategy that works for you.
MEDICATION! It is my opinion that some depression is caused by brain chemical inbalance. (Again, this is just my opinion) If this is the case, then medication may be required to combat depression. I liken this to being diabetic. Some diabetics need both diet control and medication or they will die; others can manage with diet control and occasional medication.
CLUTTER. This is just my thing. If my life is cluttered up, either by a messy house, or by unneeded emotions, my depression gets worse. So I try to keep the clutter in my life at a minimum.
Sooo, these are things that work for me.
Welcome and gentle hugs
