Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
What you said meant a real lot to me. Especially the part about saying I have a family on this board who cares and hopes I get well. You know, this sounds really sappy I guess, but that's all I every really wanted is a family. the family I got born into is not a family, we just share a bloodline. And I keep trying to make them into a family and make them care and they just don't and its endlessly frustrating. Someone on the suicide hotline told me that I am worth something after I told them about my family because they said my family treats me like i am worthless and they do. Thank you for encouraging me to go to the hospital and get help for myself. I am so disgusted and fed up with everything I just feel like giving up. But what you said really helped. when you said I belonged to a family here and people cared it just was exactly what I needs. Thank you so much.
Candidly I have messed up some things, am doing well, but one thing that held me together is that I modestly helped people, which meant my presence on this earth is a good thing, and so I'm meant to be here and the world is a better place with me. So you can do some good things.
Regarding family and circumstance, having lived more than you I think, things can work out or even out. I was bullied when young, I think I was a nice person, did not fight particularly well which is a problem if you're a boy, and had some hard times. Got married to a wonderful woman and my son has had a great life, sports captain, girls, popular, fun, he's had a great life and I've been a part of it. And if you're a parent, at least a decent one, you'd rather suffer yourself than have your child, so I'm grateful and I think in the end I've had some good luck and things evened out.
So I hope the next part of your life is better Anna. Things don't happen by themselves you have to work at it, perhaps study or look to get a better job, have goals and work towards them. So I hope success and happiness will be part of your life in the coming years and you can play a role in making that happen. Good luck and prayers are with you.
