i think im depressed how do i know?

i was raped 3 weeks ago and i think im becoming depressed all i want to do i lie in bed and sleep even though i wont sleep iv become insomniac and cant sleep at all i self harm have nightmares and flashbacks bt im not sure can some one help me?

very very sorry to here that. I would go and see your doctor. Sound like post traumatic stress to me. i would highly recomend seeing someone about it thought. god bless x

Not to state the obvious, but this is a megatraumatic event. I STRONGLY urge you to get (specifically) rape counseling at least.

AS mentioned, inform your doctor of what happened .. there are many potential side effects ... not to mention the risk of STD.

There IS recovery .. but it is doubtful you can do it on your own.

I am also very sorry for what has happened. I hope the criminal is fully prosecuted.

I am so very sorry. I agree with the others. No one should have to go through something as traumatic alone. You need the support of professionals so you can heal properly. You deserve the support of everyone who can help. Nightmares, insomnia, flashbacks; It does sound like PTSD. I am not sure you are yet in touch with the degree of trauma you have experienced. Let it out in the safe environment of a counselor's office. Let us know how you are doing.

yes I would say so, very depressed. but not only depressed you have other things going on also. Please go to nearest hospital with mental health evaluation. What you are describing needs to be evaluated and treated with meds, and different types of therapy to helpyou feel better. Only a professional can do that. please go to doc.

personally I dont think anyone here is qualified to make that assessment especially over the internet. Seek professional help immediately...as a rape survivor myself all I can do is reaffirm you are not at fault!!!
