I've been through depression before and this is the first time I've started seeing someone right in the middle of it. I feel happy when I'm around him. It's weird. But then I'll go right back to feeling depressed. Is this a bad time to start a relationship? It's hard to know how I really feel because when I'm depressed I just lose the ability to make decisions. I'm scared I'll scare him away because I'm not myself when I'm depressed and then I'll get even more depressed.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I guess what I'm saying is that odds are that if you did not take a chance with him you may have lost your chance at a relationship with him forever. But you took the chance, and you have one!
All relationships are subject to ending, but from where I sit you are ahead of the game simply by trying, and way ahead of the game by seeing him!
Yeah .. you could scare him off with it .... so don't splash it on him ... or anyone else .. except a therapist or here on DS.
You are surrendering your whole life to it. Your first priority should not be to let everyone know you are depressed. Depression is not a missing arm ... you don't HAVE to accept it.
Here you are with a new relationship and already you are letting depression chip away at it. It's not a badge to wear.
YOU don't like depression ... and neither does anyone else ... so keep it out of your new relationship.
Enjoy your time together, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES tell him about your depression; not for much longer. If I were you I'd never tell him: they start to make allowances, often allowances that aren't necessary and aren't even helpful - and then they become resentful about the allowances they are making, and feel locked into making them forever, and feel more and more trapped till they chew their arm off one night and leave.
Just take it day by day. Spend time happily together. enjoy. :)
