Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I grew up in a religious family. Till this day I am trying to undo all the programming they put me through. I regret wasting part of my life. Yes there is a higher being but this you must recognize and experience by yourself and NOT FORCED by any means to adapt to their beliefs.
Unfortunately if they are violent there is no LOVE in what they preach. Live your life and move on.
It would have helped if you'd said what country you are in.
But it's not fair, people should be able to live as they wish and especially women . My parents are good with me when I listen to their orders but if I don't and was rebilous I lI've in hell. All the time I get critism and unable to be myself on simplst tasks, going out as I want, joining social groups, traveling, what I wear. Lots of times I was threatened to be killed if I ran away on my own
Like i said though, im not sure where you are so i dont know what kind of resources you have there.
Before i had insurance i went to a clinic that accepted a sliding scale fee, meaning they base your fee on the income of yourself or whoever supports you. I saw a therapist and a psychiatrist there. I also signed up for a program that aided me on the medication.
Sometimes there are people who can prescribe medications who arent psychiatrists, like psych nurses. They do the same thing.
It is hard to change others opinions, especially when they are not educated enough, like about mental illness. If there is any possible way to get material to them that might help.
You were born where you were born, when you were born. There was never any other chance of you existing, because you are the result of one specific sperm, and one specific egg.
This is the life you got. This is the straw you drew. There was never, ever, any other alternative world for you.
So make your peace with the world you've got, or always be miserable. Because you can't change the world you got. and you got pretty lucky. You have access to a computer, you can read and write, and your parents are good to you when you are obedient. You're not an untouchable, you don't spend all day sweeping up human faeces.
You were born into a context and that context was the only context you could ever be born into. Make your peace with it.
