I'm sorry I don't share your belief system. Life is pointless to me. As I have said, I am done with the philosophical debate. I'll believe what I want and you believe what you want beyond "death's door". Why does major depression and suicide always need to be reduced to spiritual beliefs. The problem is mundane, in the here and now. It is just a tactic for fear, just as telling a suicidal person that it isn't fair to the others they will hurt when they leave and how depressed they are. Using guilt to keep a person alive does nothing but fuel the depression and make them that more likely to kill themselves later on. It is the worst way to go about helping someone. The more you tell me this or that of which I have not done or figured out, but you have, is not helping. It's like telling a child that they can't eat a cookie whenever they want because they are a kid. Luckily for you, I can see past it all and it doesn't phase me. Unfortunately, the new age spirituality kick does nothing to make me feel any worse or better. "My soul is more enlightened than yours and vise versa" It is the same old story we have been dealing with for thousands of years rebranded. I just ASK we NOT bring religion or philosophy anymore into this discussion. It's fucking annoying and I'm sick of it and I am not religious. It is more reason to kill myself to prove I don't give a shit what is behind the "door".

You sound like my twin. I don't have one, but if I did, you would be here. I feel like if people really knew me, they would help me to the top of the bldg themselves and throw me a going away party. But it's not who we are. We are locked in this horrible hole of darkness, I was there, I am not there anymore, but when I was there I hated the world. I could have cared less about the entire world. I hated everyone. I hated the old, the young, the babies, the elderly, they were just in my way. I Had more anger inside of my than a nuclear bomb. I still struggle with it today, just today I wished that I could watch someone get run over by a train and then laugh at them while they took their last breath, but that feeling passed. AT least for now. I am in treatment. I go on my own. I am terrified of being locked up. But I get you. I don't think you are a mean person tho, I just think you are in a bad place in life. this world is a harsh place to live. I pray that you will come out of this. I know there is good in your heart. So much good in your heart. it is being strangled by the hate, you have to release the hate. sending you a hug even if you don't want it. I cringe when people hug me, but I later secretly thank them for being so brave.

Do you feel like you were loved as a child in your home? Do you have siblings? Does being alone in nature do anything for you? What makes this planet shitty for you?

I would repent and be baptized into Christ for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38) so that you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit to pull you out of this despair. what you are describing sounds incredibly rough. I don't know why you were or on so many drugs but that in itself could make you feel horribly ill and mess with your emotions. I think about suicide a lot too. i'm 53 years old. my life is very hard. what I have gathered over the years is that life isn't that great and is often a disappointment for many of us. I think we often have unrealistic expectations of how it should be. is life boring. sure can be. does being hospitalized and treated like shit there suck. yep. but I don't think we are meant to commit suicide no matter what our lot. I think the natural order of things is that we are meant to tough it out to our natural end. I don't know why that is but I feel that's it. it's what the animals do. it sucks but that's my opinion. and i'm sorry you are going through hell. I did better once I got off drugs and out of the hospital circuit but everyone's different. I hope you find your way and that you can eek some happiness and meaning out of this very rough road of life.

Have you heard of Jesus? You obviously have. He said I am the way the truth and the live no man comes unto the Father but by me. God really loves you but we do not experience His love and purpose our lives because our sin has seperated us from Him. Jesus went to the cross to pay the price for that sin and when we ask Him for that forgiveness and ask Him into our lives He will come in. Why is that relevant to you? Because when we ask Him in in sincerity He will come in and bring His life and purpose. Another thing He said is that He has come that we may have abundant life. He really is the answer. Why don't you give it a try?

To someone who is not religious, telling them to repent, seek god, or command them to do as you do, to be saved, is not helpful in the least; it's self-righteous and impertinent. This is a person with a high level of intelligence, and long-standing depression, so it would be safe to assume that they would have considered the lord, long ago, if there was any salvation to be had.

Preaching to be righteous to someone who is battling deep depression, to the extent this person has, is so offensive that I can see why the poster has taken their leave. The level of narrow-mindedness in your comments, to seek the lord, and even going so far as to joke about asking if they've heard of Jesus, is deafening and repulsive, and would drive anyone to want to leap off a building. The poster has already expressed their level of disdain for it, with their comment about satan, yet so many of you find it necessary to keep pushing; how arrogant and ignorant.

I was in that state once. I grew up as an orphan and had a reason to feel rejected. I ended up in a mental hospital. I told the psychologist that I was searching for the truth. He replied that there isn't any truth. Everybody makes their own truth. How wrong he was. I was eventually discharged but limped along in life trying to be strong. Then I ended up in a meeting where everybody was singing in an unknown tongue. Then there was a complete silence and someone then spoke in an unknown tongue. Then someone interpreted it which went "Your life is a dry old desert. It is so dry there are cracks appearing in it. I want to come and seep deep down into those cracks and bring life to your soul." I just knew that Jesus was speaking to me although I was not a christian then. The next week I asked Him into my life and things drastically changed. Everything He promised in His words was true. That was nearly thirty years ago and I have never looked back. I have a lovely wife, two boys. One who is married with three toddlers. Life is wonderful and I can now look forward to the eternal life promised in the scriptures.
