Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Most newborns (1 -3mos) who don't sleep for long periods of time, have colic or gas. I'd make an appt. with your pediatrician and see about changing his formula. When babies lay on their backs and have gas in their tummy it hurts. When you pick them up, the gas moves, a burp, a toot, or is dissipates. If your breastfeeding and he's crying and not sleeping, he may not be getting enough to eat. Its' hard to measure how much milk they get and if their tummy doesn't get full, they cry if their hungry. So you may need to put him on formula, once again a visit to the pediatrician can help with that decision.
Your not a bad mom, babies don't come with instruction books, it would be great if they did. If your pediatrician checks him out and he's healthy and his food is right. Then you go home and don't worry about what everyone tells you. It won't hurt for your son to take a nap in your bed with you during the day so you both can get some rest. Colic unfortunately doesn't always have a cure, it just has to work itself out. My oldest son slept most in his baby swing, he liked the movement, he didn't care for his crib all that much. My youngest son slept his colic weeks in the vibrating bouncing seat, it helped with the gas. You can't always go by what "is right" sometimes you just have to do what works for you and your baby.
The vacumn cleaner worked great on my youngest son as well. lol
Hang in there and know that your a good mom and things will settle down.
