Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I try to keep busy, catch up on making appointments, I talk to my counselor once a week on the phone, see my sisters every other week, read, etc.
When I feel like I'm going to go out of my mind from not interacting with people, I go outside, even if it's just for a walk. To see activity, to see people, etc. It's hard to push myself to go out sometimes, but when i do, I'm always glad I did go out. It cheers me up.
I have to agree with the comments that are already here. I also like to journal. One of the things that helps me with depression is writing out three things that I am thankful for. It helps me focus on the blessings in my life. I call it my gratitude journal. Have you tried any of the online counseling sites?? Try to stay connected as much as you can.... Long distance relationships are hard..... It is nice that you get to see your partner every other weekend.... Praying peace over you!
